| Summary Of Course | Obturation is the method used to fill and seal a shaped and cleaned root canal using a core filling material and root canal sealer. The commonly used material for obturation is gutta percha and the common technique performed is cold lateral compaction. Schilder introduced warm vertical compaction as a method of filling the radicular space in three dimensions. The armamentarium includes a variety of pluggers and a heat source. Advantages include filling of canal irregularities and accessory canals. However, it is technique sensitive. This course will provide necessary skills for performing predictable warm vertical compaction. |
